With the current pandemic, the state of the music and touring industry has dramatically changed. Where were you when everything was brought to a halt?

Interestingly enough, the pandemic is actually what first got me involved in the musical world. When everything was shutting down and I was stuck at home, I finally was able to learn how to play the guitar with my sister's guitar teacher, and from there, I just starting to write songs. And once I did, I never stopped. Weirdly enough, the pandemic was the catalyst for my music career.

How has that affected your plans for the coming year? Did you have a tour planned, upcoming album release?

I recorded for the first time ever in summer of 2021, so I am very new to the whole music scene.

What have you been doing to fill/make the most of your new-found free time at home? How are you supporting your mental health through all of this?

To make the most out of my free time, I have been involving myself heavily with Georgetown University. I am an International Politics major with a concentration in Security Studies. I am working as an intern at the French embassy as I am proficient in French. I have also been writing a bunch for my book that is releasing with a publishing company based in Beverly Hills, California. I have found that what best addresses my mental health is setting concrete goals for myself and sticking to a consistent work schedule. It's about balancing that work time with fun time with friends, whether that be going to functions with Georgetown clubs or just simply grabbing a coffee with a friend you haven't seen since pre-pandemic. It's about finding what makes you able to rewind (for me, that's reading romance novels or watching Succession and finding new music to jam out to).

How are dealing with the Covid fifth wave? Have things locked down again in your region? Have you had to cancel gigs, tours, etc.? Are things reopening & restrictions are lifting in your region? Have you booked any new gigs, tours, etc.? What are your plans for 2022?

Fortunately for me, Georgetown University has commenced in-person classes. I haven't been in person at Georgetown since March of 2020, when we were first kicked off campus as freshmen, so it's been so good to be back! I have just come back from studying abroad at Trinity College in Ireland, so it's been so great to return to the States, seeing my family of seven over Christmas break and my friends here in D.C.

Do you have a message for everyone at home reading this?

Don't wait to start what you truly want to do in life! I had always wanted to learn an instrument, but it wasn't until quarantine that I realized that we take so much for granted in life. Nothing and no one is going to push us to fulfill our dreams besides ourselves, so it is imperative we set the course that will bring us most joy.
